Using the Ankh to open up your personal psyche to a completely new way of living is really a very simple process. Remember, the hard work has already been done when many thousands of years ago the ancients established our understanding of its significance and as a result lay down the symbol in the racial unconscious.

Remember, the Egyptian Gods interpreted the Ankh within the context of their own particular dynamic, and so you can do likewise. If you want the Ankh to aid you in some creative endeavor such as writing or painting then it can do that. If you want an increase in wealth, an improvement in your health or even to attract a soul mate then it can also do that.

Whatever your dream or goal is then the Ankh WILL aid you in that venture - it simply taps into universal creative power and supplies a boundless supply of energy to aid your efforts.

 

 

The Key to Power

There are many ways to use the Ankh as a Key to Power. Most of these are based upon already established mental or spiritual exercises such as meditation and visualization.

In order to allow the Ankh to work and for the channel to open up you will need to still your mind - or even better, enter into a deep relaxed state. The conscious mind will always undermine your spiritual work and so it will be important to disconnect from your conscious to allow a clearer connection to the inner mind.

The following exercises are meant as guidelines. They have worked well for me for many years but they should not be seen as being carved in stone. If you get improved results through modifying them to meet your own particular needs then by all means do so. You might even want to mixed and match them taking bits of one to add to another. Allow your intuition to guide you towards the methodology that is best for yourself.

I have spoken of the Ankh as a universal symbol and of course we all dream symbolically every night. If you monitor your dreams then you will soon find that the Ankh makes an appearance. To aid this process I recommend that you imagine an Ankh in your mind before going to sleep. If you can hold it in your thoughts during the final minute before you drop off then you will carry the symbol deep into your unconscious and the connection at a soul level will be so much greater.

Ask your higher self to reveal to you the way the Ankh operates in your life when you wake up and you will find that you will soon be experiencing powerful and creative dreams.

Some people who have used this dream-seeding exercise have been disappointed with the fact that the symbol does not immediately appear in their dreams. It is important to remember that the higher self will be revealing the patterns of energies within your psyche that the Ankh resonates to. This means that the dream itself is the world that the Ankh reveals to you.

Lets give an example. Some little while back I was working on the Ankh symbol in a pre-sleep meditation with the intention of increasing a supply of creative energy into my life. The next morning I dreamt that I was outside looking up at a high dam that was holding back a massive reservoir of crystal-clear water. As I stood there a small hole appeared in the dam and water spurted out covering me from head to foot.

As you will undoubtedly have worked out the Ankh had made a powerful appearance - but in a symbolic state. The dam represented the T-cross by virtue of its strong restraining abilities, the reservoir represented the Universal Energy or the loop of the Ankh and the hole that emerged to release the jet of water was the doorway that had opening up using the Ankh as a key. A few days later I experienced an enhanced creative urge which allowed me to release a writers block which I was experiencing at the time.

I am a firm believer in the power of visualization. It never fails to amaze me just how effective it can be at manifesting the things that I want in my life. Visualizing with an Ankh is probably my favorite method for really gaining full benefit from its powers.

What are the advantages of Ankh visualization? In my experience the sub-conscious understands the function of the Ankh is essentially to operate as a key. When you visualize the symbol in your minds eye the sub-conscious simply interprets its appearance as an indication to open up the door to the higher planes. This is a very powerful process and one, if done correctly, can have some immediate results. Very often you will feel a sudden increase of energy into your aura - a sort of flow of golden light that heals and invigorates at the same time. I often use this to re-charge my batteries after a hard days' work and it generally only takes a few minutes to do.

By visualizing the Ankh you are also impressing upon your higher self the need to increase and maintain a constant flow of good energies into your life. After a few weeks of practice it it only takes a few seconds to create a mental image of the Ankh and for it to trigger off the flow. The important thing to remember is that your Higher Self is already primed with the knowledge that it needs to make the Ankh in you visualizations become activated. This is the inherent power of this symbol for it needs little conscious application to make it work.

So many people have problems with visualization. They imagine that if they are unable to actually 'see' the object of their desire clearly in their minds eye then it cannot be working. This is incorrect. The very moment that you think about the Ankh you start the process of drawing energy from the upper planes into your subconscious. To see the object clearly is a superb way of convincing your conscious mind that your visualizations are working - however it is not a prerequisite to making the Ankh come into operation.

There is an advanced exercise which to a degree encompasses all of the previous ones. It involves entering a deep meditational state whilst visualizing the Ankh over your Third Eye. This is a highly effective exercise which really releases the Power of the Ankh and opens the aura up to strong life-enhancing energies.

As you will undoubtedly already know the Third Eye is a point of deep spiritual importance. Located in the center of the forehead it forms an important part in the religions of Buddhism and Hinduism where its position is denoted by the painting of a red spot.

It is believed that meditation upon the Third Eye opens up a center, or Chakra, which in turn connects you to the higher spiritual planes. It can therefore be seen as a doorway between the mundane and spiritual planes in exactly the same way that the Ankh is. Putting the two together enables a really effective process to take place and this is easily achieved by visualizing an Ankh positioned in the center of your forehead equidistant between your eyes.

Sometimes the Ankh spontaneously desires to move outwards from this position so that it hovers in space some 5cm to 8 cm in front of your head. I have found that when this happens a stronger connection has been made between the Ankh and the Third Eye. Often as a result of the two conjoining you develop a much deeper understanding of your soul function and purpose of your current incarnation. It is as if the Ankh consciously wants the best possible circumstances for your present incarnation - though this is a subtle process better experienced at first hand by yourself than being poorly described by myself.

And that brings our examination of the Ankh to a conclusion. However before I go I want to leave you with one final mystery that surrounds the glyph.

There is a book currently available on the second-hand marketplace called 'The Law of One, Book IV' by Elkins, Rueckert and McCarty. It is an interesting publication which consists of a series of channeled messages from the Egyptian God Ra.

At one point in their conversations the authors asked their guide to 'explain the significance of the shape of the Ankh/Crux Ansata to which Ra replied that;

For many years after reading this comment I tried to discover just what those mathematical ratios' are and what exactly they refer to. Then one day I accidentally tripped over the actual sequence whilst researching the esoteric meaning of the Tarot Arcana 3 'The Goddess'.

Lack of space forbids me from speaking more on this line of research here but I hope to publish my findings at a later date. Until then I would encourage you to do a little research and in doing so continue to reveal the deep mysteries contained within the Ankh for yourself.

Throughout my many years of researches into various Magickal systems I have yet to discover an occult symbol, or glyph, that is more powerful or efficient at revealing the inner workings of the human psyche as the Ankh.
